The protective effect of magnetic fields on the corrosion of aluminium alloys in hydrochloric acid solutions

The effect of applied magnetic fields on the corrosion aluminium alloys AA3003 and AA8011 in hydrochloric acid solutions at room temperature has been investigated by using gravimetric technique. were generated from a locally made electromagnet with variable outputs. This implies presence field inhibits samples. With range 254.3 - 1040.6 mG [0.0254 0.1041 mT], protection efficiency observed for ranges 19.3 94.1% while identical solutions, 11.5 78.0%. mechanism is attributed partly phenomenon transverse magnetoresistance mass transport pattern constituent ions electrochemical system.
